As the business analyst in the CIO’s department of Maryland Technology Consulting (MTC), your next task in developing your Business Analysis and System Recommendation (BA&SR) Report is to develop a set of requirements for the hiring system.

Assignment – BA&SR Section III. Requirements

The first step is to review the feedback you received on your Stage 2 assignment, making any needed corrections or adjustments.Part of the grading criteria for Stage 4 submission includes addressing previous feedback to improve the final report.For this assignment, you will add Section III of the Business Analysis and System Recommendation (BA&SR) Report to your corrected Sections I and II.In this section you will identify requirements for the new hiring system. This analysis leads into Section IV. System Recommendation of the BA&SR (Stage 4 assignment) that will analyze a proposed IT solution to ensure it meets MTC’s organizational strategy and fulfills its operational needs.

Using the case study, assignment instructions, Content readings, and external research, develop your Section III. Requirements. The case study tells you that the executives and employees at Maryland Technology Consultants (MTC) have identified a need for an effective and efficient applicant tracking or hiring system. As you review the case study, use the assignment instructions to take notes to assist in your analysis. In particular, look for information in the interviews to provide stakeholder interests and needs.

Use the outline format, headings and tables provided and follow all formatting instructions below.

Stakeholder Interests – Review the interest or objectives for the new hiring system for each stakeholder listed below based on his or her organizational role and case study information.Consider how the technology will improve how his/her job is done; that is, identify what each of the stakeholders needs the system to do. Then to complete the table below, use information from the stakeholder interviews and identify one significant challenge or problem for each stakeholder related to the current hiring process (not their future expectations).Then explain how a system could address their problems. Do not define what that position does in the organization. (Provide an introductory sentence for this section, copy the table below and complete the two columns with 1-2 complete sentences for each role in each column.)

Modern HCI realizes that a user interface (UI) is meant for users. Hence, it is appropriate that the design process be centered on the users. This type of design is called user-centered design.

Using the general user-centered activities described in Chapter 2, propose a design for a software prototype for professional users. It is preferable to consider your organizational environment

Your software prototype can be of any platform – web, mobile, stand-alone, wearable, etc. Your tasks are:

Name your software prototype.
Explain the problem to solve.
Explain its objectives.
Collect requirements from potential users (at least five) via an online survey without names. You need to present the online survey content as well as the data gathered
Collect requirements using observations.
Compare requirements gathered in steps 4 and 5.
Preparing the conceptual design: Present a minimum of two model layouts that describe abstractly what the users require, how it can solve the problem, and what the users can do with the prototype. You can perform this task with a simple sketch too.
Preparing the concrete design: Translate the conceptual design in the previous step with the details, including the colors, sounds, images, menus, icons, etc. You may want to consider more concrete design issues discussed in Chapter 7 and 12. You may use any visual programming tools you familiar with.
Provide each screenshot with the description of the function, its previous and subsequent state and highlight any UX design practices you used to prevent users from making errors. You may refer to the UX design pattern discussed in Chapter 13. It is also required to put the link of a shared 2-minute video presentation on the prototype interaction to support and complement your attached screenshots.
Evaluate your process by a minimum of two users. Conduct a User Acceptance Test (UAT) with the identified users and review their feedback.

The designing process is the preparation for prototyping. It shall include a drawing and description of each UI design. Based on your analysis and findings from Question One, describe how the prototype will look and work. Your tasks are:

You are to prepare the interaction design of your proposed concrete design in Part Two.This is where you make your prototype comes to life.You need to provide the behavior as well as the look and feel of your designs.This will allow your potential users to interact and navigate with the UI during the prototype evaluation.Your prototyping process should not aim to achieve a fully functional product.You may use any visual programming tool to achieve this.
